Low MW Peptides and Carcinogenesis
ثبت نشده
چکیده
Problem: Low MW peptides many of them N-substituted, have growth inhibitory effects. Are the peptide levels different in malignant cells from normal cells? Method: Deprimerones dissociated from DNA at pH 9.5 was measured in normal and malignant cells. The level of Low MW compounds was also compared to large MW compounds [ratios] after gel filtration. Result: Chalones and some other low MW compounds were not as in normal tissues and cells found in these. However, these peptides could be found in the incubation fluid or ascites. DNA bound peptides were decreased in malignant cells.

Amino acid, peptide and protein mineralization dynamics in a taiga forest soil
The availability of inorganic N has been shown to be one of the major factors limiting primary productivity in high latitude ecosystems. The factors regulating the rate of transformation of organic N to nitrate and ammonium, however, remain poorly understood. The aim of this study was to investigate the nature of the soluble N pool in forest soils and to determine the relative rate of inorganic...
متن کاملDesign, Synthesis and Labeling of Tripeptide Derivatives with 99mTc as Hypoxia Imaging Agents
Background: Many diseases, including cancer, ischemia and tumors show degrees of tissue hypoxia. Therefore, it is useful to detect tissue hypoxia with compounds that can penetrate and remain in hypoxic cells in order to diagnose cancer at early stages. Peptides with low molecular weight, susceptible to redox environment, with easier penetration into tissues and low antigenic characteristics are ...
متن کاملLong-term exposure to microwave radiation provokes cancer growth: evidences from radars and mobile communication systems.
In this review we discuss alarming epidemiological and experimental data on possible carcinogenic effects of long term exposure to low intensity microwave (MW) radiation. Recently, a number of reports revealed that under certain conditions the irradiation by low intensity MW can substantially induce cancer progression in humans and in animal models. The carcinogenic effect of MW irradiation is ...
متن کاملTransport and metabolism of opioid peptides across BeWo cells, an in vitro model of the placental barrier.
In keeping with the advance of biotechnology, cell culture becomes an important tool for investigating the transport and the metabolism phenomena. A cell line of human origin, the BeWo choriocarcinoma cell line, was used for the study of the transport and metabolism of opioid peptides across the in vitro model of the placental barrier. Opioid peptides, both naturally occurring and their synthet...
متن کاملNatural peptides and proteins: potent tyrosinase inhibitors
Background and objectives: Tyrosinase is a copper containing oxidase which is crucial for controlling the production of melanin in creatures such as bacteria, fungi, plants and mammals. It is involved in the first two steps of melanin biosynthesis and leads to pigmentation and different types of cancer such as melanoma. Also, it is responsible for browning of fruits and vegetab...
